CEO Kevin Jones shares a story of Robert Davis, in his own words:
“It has been just over a year since we lost Robert Davis. He was such a great ambassador for our company culture and a big driver of what is good about Celero. One thing I loved the most about him was his humble and grateful heart. He was always thankful for his wife and kids, thankful for his friends, thankful for his hobbies like music and specifically Metallica! And, he was always thankful for his team at work. A really great memory I have is when we were struggling with technical support a few years back the first person that popped into my mind to set the bar and set the team culture was Robert. I left a meeting after it popped into my head and called Robert. I told him the areas we were struggling and told him that I needed him on the team. He immediately said that pending a chat with his wife he accepted the opportunity and was so excited. He sent me a text an hour later saying that he had discussed it with Maribel, his wife and is all in. I am not sure if he or I was the most excited. The funny part of the story is that about 5 hours later I was at home and saw he was calling. I grabbed the phone and answered. Robert said that he was so excited he forgot to ask what the compensation and benefits were. That level of trust and loyalty was a cornerstone of Robert’s personality. He always put his family, friends, and team first. But luckily for Robert, all of those parties loved him back just as much.”
Robert’s impact lives on, as the award in his name is granted annually to a participant in Celero’s Leadership Development Program who mirrors his spirit and values.
Congratulations to Marcia on this well-deserved honor! We are proud to celebrate her as an essential part of Celero and a shining example of selfless leadership.
