CTO Responsibilities include:

  • Reports to CEO

  • Build, mentor, and manage exceptional engineering teams within each acquisition as well as an engineering team for corporate, including management of outsourced/offshore engineering and QA teams

  • Establish the company’s technical vision and lead all aspects of Celero’s technological development

  • Partner with product owners from different lines of business to establish, articulate, and set the vision for the underlying technology strategy and building competitive differentiation.

  • Participate in the diligence and tech/people/product integration of any/all acquisitions

  • Manage the software development and release cycles of all lines of businesses to maintain the appropriate balance of innovative velocity, quality assurance, and cost control

  • Anticipate and stay on top of technology and market trends to ensure the continued leadership in a competitive environment and adherence to compliance requirements

  • Identify potential technology partners which can significantly increase the value of Celero Commerce or one/all of its acquisitions

  • Information security depth and experience

  • Ensure proactive measures are addressed to encompass potential information security vulnerabilities, specifically related to PCI and PII

  • Ensure all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards

  • Monitor KPIs and IT department budget to assess technological performance

  • Make executive decisions on behalf of the company’s technological requirements

  • Serve as a key member of the leadership team to help shape strategy and business plans, and ensure all functional areas are in alignment

Job Brief:

Celero Commerce is searching for a Chief Technology Officer to join our team in Nashville, TN! Reporting to the CEO, the CTO will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO as well as other members of the executive team. They will own the technology across multiple acquisitions in the payments space and be responsible for planning, designing and executing against the technology strategy and roadmap of Celero Commerce. The CTO will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the technology platform, which is comprised of products and services across multiple acquisitions held by Celero Commerce. They will also be responsible for the infrastructure and resources required to support the IT operations and IT Helpdesk of Celero Commerce corporate as well as their acquisitions.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and technical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a customer-oriented approach to designing, engineering, managing, and implementing market leading products and solutions in support of the Celero Commerce strategy. This candidate will be able to operate at both a highly strategic and tactical level.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field, a master’s degree in Computer Science or an MBA preferred

  • Willing to relocate to Nashville, TN

  • 7 or more years in Information Technology required

  • Technology visionary (leader) to serve as an advocate, both inside and outside Celero Commerce

  • Experience building B2B SaaS platforms ($5M - $50M+ in revenues)

  • 5 or more years of strong team leadership experience, including building/recruiting, managing and retaining

  • M&A technology integration experience preferred

  • Owned or experience managing a technology business preferred

  • Broad knowledge and ability to work and consult across all business functions

  • Managing multiple stacks and infrastructure, including on-premise, AWS, and Microsoft Azure

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Prior experience presenting to a board of directors in a professional manner
